Project Description

BROUILLARD stands both as the French for “fog” and the last name of the artist. This DIY project is made of LED lights forming the word “BROUILLARD”, a surface of diffusion and a simple mechanic. A motor moves LED lights back and forth. When approaching the surface of diffusion, the word “BROUILLARD” is clearly legible. By moving away, the light diffuses and the word’s legibility disappears.

This is, of course, a pun on Brouillard’s last name, a DIY re-enactment of the namesake meteorological phenomenon (fog). This project has been used as a title for her exhibit presented at Studio XX (Montreal, Canada) in 2014.
